Help save Canada's sage-grouse

  1. Very interesting birds. I've seen videos of birds before that puff their chests out like that, but I'm not sure if it was these.

    1. It probably was. The dance of these birds is often imitated in Native American Dances of the Plains people. Like partridges there is a distinct drumming sound during the mating season.

  2. So much needs saving today...if we stopped wiping out the landscape with ugly brick buildings then all the other species that deserved to be on this earth would have the same chance as us!!

    1. Yes that is true but the short-grass prairie and shrub brush habitat in this case was directly interfered with by agriculture and the oil and gas industry. There are only 13 males left in the last bit of specific habitat left. A vital few square miles.
